BBI faces turbulence as key Raila allies claim a plot to throw him under the bus

The Building Bridges Initiative, a brainchild of both President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga appears to be facing turbulence ride, this is after close allies and confidants of ODM leader Raila Odinga claimed there was a scheme to throw the ODM leader under the bus and paint the BBI as his project, in the latest quagmire facing Raila Odinga.

According to Mr. Odinga’s close circles who never wanted to be named because of the sensitivity of the matter at hand, they fear that part of the wider scheme to throw Hon. Raila under the bus is to attempt to forcefully push through the controversial new revenue sharing formula, which proposes major funding cuts to counties, which most of them are seeing as Raila Odinga’s support base.

Sources claim that at the meeting with the ODM leader, the former Premier reportedly his bandwagon not to accept the new revenue formula, setting the stage for a a fierce political gunfire between his camp and that of president Uhuru Kenyatta, and thus it might water down the speed at which the two leaders were going to ensure BBI is implemented.

The new formula has seen Mr Odinga’s allies clash with those of Uhuru Kenyatta, this escalated when Senate majority leader Sen. Kang’ata claimed that if the senators wont support the formula, then there was no reason for BBI, a move that is now threatening to scuttle execution and implementation of  the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI)
