Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary Hon. Ababu Namwamba, EGH over the weekend hosted Slovak Ambassador to Kenya H.E Mrs. Katarina Zuffa Leligdonova, in Busia county for a consultative engagement with the Busia county government and to assess and explore development programs with support of the government of Slovakia, including school digitization, agri-support and environment.
Kenya has enjoyed cordial relations with the Republic of Slovakia over the years, these beneficial bilateral relations for shared prosperity between the two nations has seen transformative initiatives fully funded by the Embassy of the Slovak Republic such as the digital library projects in various schools within the great Busia County.
The County has also benefitted as a result of good and personal friendship between Hon. Ababu Namwamba, EGH, and the Slovakian People through the Slovak Embassy in kenya. The personal friendship has seen seven schools in Bunyala sub county in benefiting from digitization project to the tune of Ksh.4.2 million.
Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Ababu Namwamba, EGH while hailing the digitization initiative by the Slovak Republic, said the program will enable learners gain capacity and enter digital space, minimizing illiteracy and exuded confidence that the initiative will enable Busia county take center stage of digital knowledge, once the program is spread through the other regions within the county.
The beneficiaries of the school digitization initiative includes St Joseph’s Busagwa, Makunda primary school, Budalangi Primary, Bunyala Model, Port Mixed Primary, Namenya Girls (Bunyala West) and Rugunga Primary, with each learning institution equipped with computers, printers and and and Wi-Fi connectivity.
