Foreign Affairs CAS Hon Ababu Namwamba, EGH graced the 7th annual Kenya Diaspora Home coming convention held at the Ole Sereni hotel.
In his brief remarks CAS Ababu hailed the Diaspora for performing very well on on financial remittances, a source of human capital around globe and the tremendous role they keep playing in the social-economic development of their home country through various means.
He challenged Diaspora to continue making deliberate steps, invest more in the African continent for its prosperity and success. He also added that the image of Kenya depends on the Diaspora as they represent Kenya from wherever they are.
Hon. Ababu appreciated the fact that the Diaspora have continued to support national efforts in various social economic domain, urging them as Kenya’s ambassadors in Diaspora to be the drivers of President Uhuru’s big four agenda.
CAS Ababu noted that the government had put in place efforts to mainstream the Diaspora in Kenya’s Foreign policy, which aims at integrating the Kenyan Diaspora abroad to contribute to the national Development process and that the Government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Kenya Missions abroad will continue to facilitate registration of Diaspora umbrella associations all over the world.
“As you go about building your associations, remember to also strengthen your engagement with the Kenyan Missions responsible for your jurisdiction.” Added CAS CAS Ababu
