Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary Hon. Ababu Namwamba, EGH together with his counterpart from the ministry of Health Dr. Mercy Mwangangi on 27th July 2020 received a consignment of humanitarian aid from the Government of the Slovak Republic for the Covid-19 pandemic mitigation.
While receiving the donation on behalf of the Kenyan government Hon. Ababu Namwamba, EGH thanked the Slovakian Government for their support and standing in solidarity with the Kenyan people during this pandemic period, promising that the government will do everything to ensure that the spread of COVID-19 is contained and the disease neutralized so that Kenyans can go back to their normal business.
Slovakia and Kenya enjoy a cordial ties, relations that have improved over the years. CAS Ababu’s personal ties with Slovakia has also cemented the relationship between the two countries. Slovak government has projects in Kenya worth millions of shillings with focus on healthcare, education, agriculture and public administration.
Both countries also cooperate in trade, energy, construction, transport, infrastructure, engineering, water, agriculture and information technologies.
The humanitarian aid donation was delivered by a Slovak Government aircraft at the Jommo Kenyatta International Airport and handed over by H.E Frantisek Dlhopolcek, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Kenya.
