A day after appearing in the Parliamentary committee to answer questions on the DP’s Security drama, the Interior CS Fred Matiang’i on Thursday arrived in Lusaka Zambia to meet newly-elected Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema. Hakainde was sworn in few weeks ago after defeating Edgar Lungu.
Government spokesperson Col(Rtd) Cyrus Oguna through a statement on twitter informed the republic that the Interior and government coordination CS was in Lusaka, Zambia as President Kenyatta’s special Envoy and was sent to deliver a special message from Kenya’s Head of State.
Oguna further added that Kenya and Zambia enjoy a cordial relations and a rich history of cooperation in strategic and geopolitical interests, bilateral relations in trade and mutual.
President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga were among leaders who attended the swearing-in ceremony of president Hichilema at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka. A longtime opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema achieved one of the biggest electoral wins in the country’s history.
