KENYA SENDS ASSISTANCE TO SUDAN FOR FLOOD RELIEF

Khartoum, Sudan, September 15th, 2019

The Government of Kenya has donated relief supplies to Sudan following devastating floods in Blue Nile and Khartoum regions. The devastation floods has left 65,000 people displaced, 65 dead and livestock and property worth millions lost. This is according to the officials.

Foreign Affairs CAS Hon Ababu-Terrah Namwamba today presented Kenya’s donation and a message from His Excellency President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta in Khartoum.

The relief consignment aboard a Kenya Airforce jet was received by officials of the government of the Republic of Sudan led by Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs Ambassador Ilham Ahmed and the Commissioner General of the Sudan Humanitarian Aid Commission Dr. Mohamed Mustafa.

Kenya becomes the first country to respond to the appeal for assistance from the government of the Republic of Sudan.
