There was Pomp and colour on a sunny sunday of 22nd December as the annual splendacious Isambo Beach Festival kicked off at Che’s Bay Beach Resort in Budalangi, Busia County.
The unique and globally recognised December festival which celebrates cultural fusion and blue economy saw a cocktail of top notch events showcased. Burundi’s Sangwa Amahoro cultural group stole the show with their beautiful drum beating expertise never witnessed before in the land of Lions, drums that got DP and and Hon. Ababu off their seats to join them as they wowed the crowd with Burundian cultural songs and dance.
The Confucius Institute also highlighted the first Day with their flawless Chinese performances that left the guests yearning for more from China. India came live at Che’s Bay as Bollywood related performances were showcased much the people’s delight at one of finest beach parties in Kenya.
The Deputy President William Ruto who was the chief guest at the celebration entered the Festival’s venue to a wondrous welcome from a thunderous crowd and endless ululations from the multitude who had gathered at Che’s Bay to experience Lake. Victoria’s hottest beach party.
Hosted by the Foreign Affairs CAS Ababu Namwamba, DP Ruto pledged to continue supporting the President’s Big 4 agenda and hailed Hon. Ababu for spearheading cultural interactions through the Isambo Beach carnival.
“Culture is the reservoir of our collective experience and everything unique about us, not just today but across generations. It is a deep well that we draw from in times of joy, crisis, and even sadness,” Ruto said via his twitter account.
