President Uhuru Kenyatta has created the office of the Nairobi Metropolitan Services, the office which will take over Nairobi County functions transferred to the National Government will be headed by Major Gen. Mohamed Abdalla Badi. This comes as the National Government take over of Nairobi County became effective from Tuesday.
“I have also today created the office of the Nairobi Metropolitan Services; this office will be headed by Major General Mohamed Abdalla Badi, he will be deputized by Enosh Onyango Momanyi” said the president in his statement. President Kenyatta also directed Nairobi Metropolitan Services team to operationalise effective garbage collection and disposal methods and concentrate on the implementation of the Nairobi Railway City master plan.
Over the next one 100 days the NMS (Nairobi Metropolitan Services) team should work closely with relevant institutions to establish the Railway City Development Authority and identify the anchor projects and investors for this redevelopment project…” Added President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Badi was last year promoted to Commandant National Defence College after serving as Assistant Chief of Defense Forces Operations, Doctrine and Training. He will be deputised by Enosh Onyango Momanyi.
