Trouble is brewing in Budalangi Constituency IEBC office after a high ranking official was exposed for plans to bangle the forthcoming elections in favour of some candidates.

The official according to our sources has been asked to step aside from his role as Deputy Returning Officer pending determination of his case after failing to produce his MPESA statement as demanded by the Returning officer.It is alledged an MP aspirant had bribed him through MPESA.

The Officer, Brian Juma Wandera has been in office since 2017 and is seen to be the institutional memory at the local office.

Brian is reported to have on orders of a parliamentary aspirant and an MCA aspirant from one of the wards in Bunyala, struck out names of unsuspecting applicants from the shortlist and invited individuals who had not applied for interviews.

The situation caused an uproar which the Returning Officer nipped in the bud by trashing out the illegal list and inviting applicants for fresh interviews.

Our sources at the constituency office of IEBC Budalangi reports that Brian is set to return to the office during the training of successful officials a situation that has caused disquiet in the office that he will return to serve his masters and tarnish their reputation.

Politicians privy to the happenings have cautioned the IEBC Chair, Wafula Chebukati to ensure the happenings in the local office are above board.

Aspirants through a joint letter written to the Constituency Returning Officer have demanded that the DRO be sent on leave till after the August elections to ensure the elections are not bangled
